Tichá/Oppolz

It contains the remains of a Gothic fortress later used as a brewery. Like many other monuments, the fortress fell into disrepair after World War II. Thanks to reconstruction carried out between 2010 and 2022 by the Hrady na Malši association, it is now in perfect condition and open to visitors from April to October.

Pohoří na Šumavě/Buchers

A destroyed village in the southernmost tip of South Bohemia. It was known for its glass paintings. In 1930, it had 558 inhabitants. After the war, like Cetviny/Zettwing, it 
was depopulated, but remained partially inhabited, apparently until the early 1970s. 

After 1990, Pohoří/Buchers was abandoned, but several original buildings still stood. This gradually changed. The abandoned buildings were gradually demolished. In some places, the new owners built new houses, which gets a mixed reception. The tower of the local church collapsed inward in 2001, causing considerable damage to the church building. A partial reconstruction and stabilization of the building was carried out, but the main nave of the church remained without a roof. 

Ponds

A system of navigation canals was built in the Novohradské Mountains. It included five ponds: Kapelunk, Pohorský/Georgendorfer Teich, Zlatá Ktiš/Goldentisch Teich, Huťský/Krauter Teich and Uhlišťský/Kohlstätten-Teich. 

Nové Hrady/Grazen

The traditional center of the regional mountains ridge with a recently restored castle and Servite monastery. Directly below Nové Hrady/Grazen lies Theresian Valley, a nature park with exotic trees and an artificial waterfall founded in the 18th century by Terezie Buqoyová. On the edge of Theresian Valley stands Cuknštejn/Zuckenstein Fortress, founded in 1490.  

Dobrá voda / Brünnl

A traditional pilgrimage site with a Baroque parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and a spring. A landmark of the region visible from a great distance.
